Born near Ackworth in Warren County, Iowa, Dean had lived most of his life in Warren County. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers from 1959 - 1962. He worked for Iowa Concrete Products. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and the I.O.O.F. Lodge # 70 in Indianola.

He is survived by his sons Roger (Cyndi) of Indianola and Mike (Stacey) of Waukee; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 26 where family will be present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends. I.O.O.F. services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
