Services for David Nicholas Wacht, 40, of Indianola, IA, who passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021 at home, will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 10, 2021 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery.

David Nicholas Wacht was welcomed joyfully on April 16, 1981 by his parents Steve and Joyce and older brother Matt.  From his earliest days of life David was smiling and loved being part of a large extended family where he was known as "D".  He was the typical sports loving, mischievous youngster.  David's hobby was people – he never met a stranger and loved striking up conversations about most any topic.

His heart was large and pure gold.  Known as uncle D to his three nephews, he showered them with love, gifts and his time.  David readily shared his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ with others as well.  Illness and pain the last few months of his life only caused him to be stronger in his faith, and to tell others of his love for them.  He will be remembered and loved by so many.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Joyce Wacht; brother, Matt (Heather) Wacht; nephews, Jackson, Cooper and Mason Wacht; aunt, Donna (Rick) Markley; uncles, Glenn (Dee) Keller, Dennis (Carolyn) Keller, Jim Keller, Bob (Jane) Keller and Loren (Portia) Wacht.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loren and Darlene Wacht and Donald and Alice Keller; uncles, Bill Keller, Jeff Wacht and Scott Keller; and aunt, Janet Keller.

Visitation will be held prior to services on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the Charles R. Brebner Post #661 in Liberty Center, IA.
