Thompson, 59, who passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at home, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 15 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Inurnment of cremains will be in the Iowa Veteran's Cemetery in Van Meter, IA at a later date. David was a 1973 graduate of Speedway High, Speedway, IN. Survivors include his children, Logan Thompson of Norwalk, Colton Thompson of Des Moines, Justin Axline of Indianapolis, IN and Joshua Thompson of Alturas, CA; father, Bernard Thompson; and sister, Sharon Hart both of Huntsville, TX. Visitation will be held noon to 2 p.m., Saturday prior to services. Memorials may be given in David's name to Second Chance Dog Rescue, 4803 Lisbon Street, Prole, IA 50229.
