Memorial services for David Mitchell Rozga, 18, who died Sunday, June 6, 2010, will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 10 at the Indianola Community Church, 14424 Kennedy Street, Indianola, Ia. Burial of cremains will follow in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

David was raised in Indianola and was a 2010 graduate of Indianola High School where he participated in marching band, football, baseball, and solo ensemble. He was employed part-time at the Indianola Hy-Vee Food Store and a member of the Indianola Community Church where he was active in the worship band and youth group. David was the 2010 recipient of the "Semper Fidelis" award for musical excellence by the United States Marines Youth Foundation, Inc. and the Marine Corps League for his diligence, dedication and musical excellence as a performing high school bandsman and soloist. He enjoyed playing the guitar; loved the outdoors hunting deer, turkey and pheasant; and was an avid Packer fan.  He had planned to continue his education in business and pursue his love of music at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

He is survived by his father and mother, Michael and Jan Rozga and brother, Daniel Rozga all of Indianola; grandparents, Richard and Mary Mitchell of Chariton and Robert and Nancy Rozga of Eagle River, WI; uncles and aunts, Bruce Mitchell, Charisse Rozga, Greg (Laura) Rozga and Jim (Laura) Rozga; and many cousins.

A time to remember David will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 9 at the Indianola Community Church where family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indianola Music Boosters or I.C.C.
