David was born in Des Moines and graduated from Indianola High School in 1968.  He farmed and for the past 20 years had worked for McAninch Corp in Des Moines as a heavy equipment operator.  He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, collecting construction toys and living in the country.

Surviving are his mother Maxine McAninch of Indianola; brothers, Stanley (JoAnne)  and Charles McAninch of Indianola; sisters, Kathryn (Ben) Selle of Wolfeboro, NH, Lora (Leland) Goode of Indianola; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Gene McAninch and one sister, Virginia Sharon.

Visitation will be held 3 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 15 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present from 6 – 8:00 p.m. to greet friends.
