DAVID GEORGE FLINN Indianola David G. Flinn, age 57, of Indianola passed away on Monday, August 13th at the Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines after a valiant 5-month fight with Brain Cancer. David was born to Lawrence and Talitha (Mash) Flinn of Indianola on July 31, 1955. He was a 1974 graduate of Indianola High School and worked as a private contractor specializing in floor coverings. Dave loved to have a good time. He was known for his sense of humor and giving people a hard time. He enjoyed coaching the Indianola High School bowling team, balloon chasing, being outdoors, and spent a lot of his free time in his shop. David is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Flinn of Indianola; children, Tyler and Jessica Flinn of Indianola; brothers, Doug (Shiela) Myers of Des Moines, Larry Flinn of Albuquerque, NM, John Flinn and James Flinn both of Indianola; and brother-in-law, Donald Clatt of Indianola. He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Talitha Flinn and sister Lola Clatt. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a multitude of friends that love and miss him dearly. A Celebration of David's Life will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2012 at Overton Funeral Home, 501 West Ashland Avenue, Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Lunch will follow burial at the American Legion Hall. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 16 at Overton Funeral Home with family present from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
