David Allen Downey, 64, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away on July 05, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family.

David was a beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his son, Dillon Downey; daughter, Jordyan Downey; grandchildren, Astrid and Apollo Downey and Matthew Crawford; parents, Dixie and Dwight Downey; sister, Penny (Scott) Riedel; brother, Dennis Downey.

David enjoyed the simple joys of life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, taking walks with his loyal dog Gunner, and relaxing with a cold Busch Light.

David will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and quiet dedication to his loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and deep family bonds that meant everything to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held, with close family and friends, at Salem Connections 222 W Salem Ave Indianola, IA 50125, on July 12, 2025 from 5-9pm.
