IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Allan
Day
August 5, 1963 – September 28, 2018
"Sing Us A Song You're The Piano Man", just one of the many lyrics that would entice David Allan Day to close his eyes and sing out loud, and we might add, on key. A lover of music, he was rarely without a tune on the radio or in his head. David enjoyed other things too, the king of rock-n-roll Elvis Presley (his favorite), the Denver Broncos, Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs as well as his dogs Elly and Zoey. David spent many years devoted to working at Principal Financial Group.
He loved nothing more than his wife Ann of 32 years; daughters, Alyson (Rusty) Stark, Kathryn Day; his pride and joy were his grandchildren Lola, Sullivan and Hugo. He is also survived by his parents, Ronald and Darlene Day; mother-in-law Susan Rowland; siblings, Michael (Denise) Day, Gregory (Kelly) Day, Lori (Dennis) Klug, Jennifer Day and Brian (Kristin) Day; brother-in-law, Jon (Amy) Rowland; nieces and nephews, Jacob Day, Abbie (Dylan) Cozad, Samuel Day, Mitchell Day, Madison Day, Tyler Blackburn, Chelsea Everhart, Megan Neuroth, Cason Day, Benjamin Rowland and Anna Rowland; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
David Allan Day was born on August 5, 1963 the son of Ronald David and Darlene Marie (Ripperger) Day. David left this world on Friday, September 28, 2018, the way he would have wanted, with music playing, surrounded by his loved ones at home.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Vincent and Agnes Ripperger, paternal grandparents, Doris and Denton Day and his dog Patti of seventeen years.
His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his Care Team at John Stoddard, MD Anderson and the amazing Hospice Care Team. A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday November 3rd from 4-7pm at the St. Thomas Aquinas Pastoral Center in Indianola. Memorials may be given to the family in his name.
