Services for Darren Eric Reed, 59, of Indianola, who passed away Friday, January 2, 2026, will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, with burial following in the Liberty Center Cemetery.  The visitation will be held prior to services from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

Darren was born on August 4, 1966 in Chariton, Iowa to Errol and Alice Reed.  Darren graduated from S.E. Warren High School in 1984.  He had worked for C & C Cycle, Noble Ford and was the owner of Champion Motors and Champion Transportation.

He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Lori Bown on July 1, 1989.  To this union children Devin and Heather were born.

Darren's passion was his family!  He always worked harder than he should to provide for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Errol and Alice Reed; siblings, Christy, Connie and Dennis; father-in-law Martin Bown and many other extended families.  He is survived by his wife Lori Reed; children, Devin (Jessica) Reed and their daughter, Maizy and Heather Reed and her children Karter and Kaden; brother, Darl (Flora) Reed; mother-in-law Lorraine Bown; brothers-in-law, Fred (Joan) Bown and Terry (Terri) Cross and a host of nieces and nephews and cousins.

There will also be a Celebration of Life on Saturday January 24, 2026 at Grace Church from 2 to 5 p.m.  Please come and share some light refreshments and stories.

Memorials in memory of Darren may be given to the family to set up a Trust for his grandchildren.
