Dr. Darrell Dean Bentz, 89, died March 29, 2018, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was born on December 15, 1928, in Milford, Kansas, to Raymond and Mary (Butler) Bentz.
He obtained his BA and MA from Kansas State University and his PhD from Oklahoma State University in Education. He was a Reading Consultant for the State of Iowa and retired from Heartland AEA in 1990. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Darrell was also an avid Kansas State Wildcats and Cleveland Indians fan.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at Wolf and Susan Gaumer's home on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at 100 W Kentucky, Indianola, Iowa, from 2 to 4 p.m. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the Milford Cemetery in Milford, Kansas.
