DANNY W. TURNER Indianola Services for Danny W. Turner, 63, who died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 10 at the First Assembly of God Church in Indianola. Burial with military honors will be in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at Van Meter. Danny was born in Indianola and was a member of the Southside Nazarene Church, Des Moines and a 30 year member of the Indianola Fire Department. He worked for Max McCord and Smart Management for 38 years and was retired from the United States Army after 32 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Kristi (Ken) Duffield of Murfreesboro, TN and Darin (Robin) Turner of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Jessica Duffield-McNeil, Sam and Kylie Duffield, and Carson, Camron, Caden and Collen Turner; mother, Georgia Turner of Indianola; siblings, Carl Turner Jr. of Des Moines, Lois Enga and Larry Turner both of Indianola; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Turner. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 9 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. The family requests memorial donations be made to his church or the Indianola Fire and Rescue.
