Obituary
Danny Norman Palmer, 80, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Mercy Hospice, Johnston.
He retired from the Des Moines Police Department in 1992 after 23 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; children Brad (Pam) Palmer, Brian (Rhonda) Palmer and Kathy (Lonnie) Hulsey; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willis and Hazel Palmer and his mother Mildred Palmer.
A Celebration of Life will be held Noon to 4 p.m., with a service at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 4 at the Des Moines Police Officers Recreation and Training Building, 5374 N.E. 12th Ave., Pleasant Hill, IA. Memorials may be given in his name to the Des Moines Police Department Guardian Project for body cameras.
