Danny Lee Moore, 75, of Carlisle, Iowa, passed away at home on August 31, 2025 surrounded by his wife, children and their loyal dog, Bella.

Dan was born February 4, 1950 at home in Guthrie Center to Kenneth Charles Moore and Marilyn Elaine (Williams) Moore. His family lived in and around the Des Moines area and he graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1968.

Dan and Marlis were introduced by their siblings, married in 1968 and have three children.

Dan was a very hard worker his entire life.  His truck driving career began at age 19 with American Freight. Throughout his career he also worked for Carolina Freight and retired from ABF. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 147 and later in life he worked as a delivery driver for Medicap Pharmacy LTC.

Dan's true passion was working on his acreage, where he raised livestock and a variety of peafowl, guineafowl, and many chicken breeds. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn. He enjoyed riding mules, as well as hunting with friends, his son and grandchildren. He loved to be outdoors, but when he wasn't he enjoyed watching Westerns.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Marlis; daughter, Melissa (Randy) Howard of Carlisle; daughter, Michealla Moore of Indianola; and son, Danny (Tammy) Moore of Indianola; eleven grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; aunt, Barbara Reichenbach; sisters-in-law, Vonda (Paul) Greene, Doretta Cowman, Sue Cowman and Vicky Moore; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene Moore, and his mother and father-in-law.

Dan's wishes were to be cremated with inurnment to be in the Olive Chapel Cemetery, Attica, Iowa, at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held at their family home on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
