Daniel Perry Yando, 93, of Indianola, Iowa, passed away on December 6, 2023.  Daniel was born on August 16, 1930, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Esther and Charles Beeby Yando.

Daniel served in the U.S. Naval Fleet in the Western Pacific during the Korean War 1950-1954 aboard the U.S.S. Nicholas DDE-449.  Following his return from his naval service, he married Doris Lee Crangle.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Lee Yando, his parents, Esther and Charles Beeby Yando, daughter, Susan Harwell  and son-in-law Reuben Harwell and sisters, Elouise Moe and Mary Alice Yando.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Yando; daughter, Pamela (Robert) Smits of College Station, TX; son, Edwin Yando of Indianola; daughter, Lori Ball of Indianola; stepchildren, Deborah (J.D.) Ensley, Joan (Stuart) Bailey, Rebecca (Mark) Amundson, and Stephanie (Kevin) Amundson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Daniel's cremains will be buried at the IOOF Cemetery in Indianola.  No visitation or service will be conducted as requested by the deceased.

Memorials in Dan's memory may be made to the American Legion Post # 165 or Kiya Koda Humane Society of Indianola.
