Daniel was born November 16, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN to Earl and Wilma Streyffeler. He served in the United States Marine Corp for two years at the US Naval Base in Long Beach, CA from August of 1946 to July of 1948. He worked for Delevans in Des Moines for 23 years and then for Carltons in Minnesota for 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and collecting stamps.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dolores; his three sons, Dan, Dennis and Jim (Angie); eight grandchildren; sister, Annabel (Leonard) Meyer of Iowa Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers.

Visitation will be held 9 – 11 a.m., Thursday, April 2 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends.
