Dale Rolin Henry, age 92 years, 6 months and 10 days, passed away June 11, 2026, at home.

Dale was born to Roy and Ruth (Brown) Henry on December 1, 1933, at the family farm north and east of Indianola. Dale was one of two people in the state of Iowa to survive encephalitis at the age of 10 years old.

Dale met the love of his life Lucille Broyles on the school bus. They were ages 14 and 15. After graduation on April 4, 1953, they were united in marriage. They were married for 74 years, but had been together for 78 years at the time of his passing.

Dale had served in the United States Army as a cook. When his enlistment was finished, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Glenda (Henry) Bolton was born. Dale worked for Pat and Tex Gatrel at Missouri Valley Landscaping and also at Smitt and Henry Furniture Manufacturing in Des Moines. Dale’s parents asked him to come home and farm with his brother, Edwin, so Dale returned home to Indianola to work with his father and brother. This was 1959 and Henry Bro’s was born. In 1960, the family was blessed with another daughter Jeannine (Henry) Naberhaus.

Dale loved his cats, dogs, Studebakers, snowmobiling and working on his Oliver tractors.

He had gone on many of the WHO Greater Iowa Tractor Drives. Dale mentored many young men over the years, teaching them to work on cars, trucks and anything mechanical. Dale had a photographic memory when he worked on engines. He could just look and could see through, like looking through a window.

Dale retired from farming in 2009 and would meet up with his classmates for lunch once a week. He was a very giving man and always gave his time, energy and money over the years to those who needed it. He was the best husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Dale leaves behind his wife, Anna Lucille; daughters, Glenda (Jeff) Bolton and Jeannine (Anthony) Naberhuas; grandchildren, Alycia (Erin) Griffin, Nathan (Heidi) Naberhaus, Aaron (Liz) Storm, Ryan Naberhaus, Shaun (Kelsey) Bolton, and Shannon (Cody) Cooper; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Colton Griffin, Bentley Naberhaus, John Storm, Leighton, Remy and Hunter Bolton, and Laney and Crew Cooper.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Martha Strahan; and brothers, Edwin, Harvey and Merrill Henry.

A Celebration of Life Service for Dale Rolin Henry, 92, of Indianola, Iowa, who passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026, at home, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Farmers Chapel Church, 9020 160th Avenue, Indianola. Visitation will be held prior to service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.

Memorials in memory of Dale may be given to the Alzheimer's Association .
