Cynthia (Cindy) Marie Nelson, 54, of Indianola, passed away at home on June 13th, 2016 after complications from COPD and emphysema. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Cindy was born January 10th, 1962 in Des Moines, IA to Donald and Norma Nelson. She was a caring sister, aunt, stepmother, and daughter. Cindy loved to travel, especially to the Rocky Mountains. Her lifelong best friend Robin Overton Curry stayed by her side until she passed.

She is preceded in death by her father Don Nelson. She is survived by her mother Norma Nelson, her sisters Billie Jo Warden (Kevin) and Dorie Neuman (Jamie), 4 nephews, 1 niece, 2 stepchildren, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 17 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, June 18 at Overton Funreal Home with burial following in the Sandyville cemetery. Special thanks to St. Croix Hospice.
