Cynthia D. Courtney, 66, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 in Des Moines.  Cynthia was born August 30, 1955 in Wharton, TX to J.W. and Joyce Blackwell.

Cynthia graduated from Boling High School in Boling, TX.  She worked as a secretary and loved to quilt.  Cynthia had lived in Ankeny and most recently in Bondurant.  She always cared about the neighborhood kids.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandy Courtney; grandchildren, Camdon Carter, Kaydon Carter and Landon Parker; mother Joyce Blackwell; siblings, Donna Tydlacka, Wendy Foisner and Raymond Blackwell.  She was preceded in death by her father, J.W. Blackwell and brother Wesley Blackwell.
