Services for Constance "Joan" Garrison, 93, of Indianola, who passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Visitation will be held prior to service from 10 to 11 a.m.  Burial will follow services in the Plainville Cemetery, Milo.

Joan was born on July 29, 1931 in rural Milo to Gerald Emery and Josephine (Kimzey) Norris.  She graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1948.  She was united in marriage to James "Willard" Garrison on September 15, 1949.  To this union four children were born, Robert, Kathy, David and Jodi.

Joan and Willard traveled extensively while Willard served in the Navy going to places like, Memphis, Tennessee, Corpus Christi, Texas, Jacksonville, Florida and Oahu, Hawaii.  She worked for the Warren County Engineers office for 24 years.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting.  Joan enjoyed the sleep overs with her grandchildren and was a member of Eastern Star serving as Past-Worthy Matron and was also a member of Green Plain United Methodist Church.

Joan is survived by her children, Kathy (John) Pilmer, David (Kimberly) Garrison and Jodi Clary; grandchildren, Joey Pilmer, Joshua (Jessica) Garrison, Jenna (Matt) Tharp, Katelyn (Zach) Little, Kasey (Kylie) Clary and Mikayla (John) Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Emery, Hollis, Boston, Luke, Tate, Cole, Lane, Levi, Laney and Addilyn.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Garrison, infant son, Robert Craig Garrison; grandson, Mitchell James Garrison; parents, Gerald and Josephine Norris; and sister Harriett (Don) Garrison.
