Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2008, at Chapel of Faith Church in Indianola with burial following in the Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Cleo was a very caring and compassionate person and would never turn down a person in need.  She loved her family and was happiest when her grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit.  She was "Mom" to everyone who knew her, including friends and extended family.  She retired from the Iowa State Fair Administration Office in 1993 and in recent years, worked part time for Goodwill in Indianola.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elizabeth Wohlwend; husband, Gerald; daughter, Karen; brothers, William, Francis and Arthur Wohlwend; sisters, Ethel Jones, Mabel Phillips, Alice Ferguson, Gladys Carder and Dolly Kubli.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Viers of Swan, William Viers of Indianola, Larry (Karen) Viers of Des Moines and Alan Viers of Indianola; brothers, Don (Margarite) Wohlwend of Des Moines, Merle (Wilma) Wohlwend of Indianola and Pat (Rita) Miller of Salem, MO; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews who were very close to her.

Visitation will be held 3 – 6 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends.  Memorials may be given to the Chapel of Faith Church or Hospice of Central Iowa, Knoxville.  On Line condolences may be sent at www.overtonfunerals.com.
