Mr. Endres was born in rural Lacona, Iowa on August 6, 1929 to Barney and Leona Endres. Cleo graduated from Milo High School in 1947. He joined the United States Navy serving from 1951 – 55 on the Destroyer Escort and on an ice breaker in the North Atlantic Ocean during the Korean War.
Upon returning from the Navy, Cleo attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and graduated in 1962 with a B.S. in Business Administration. In 1969, he married Barbara Bradshaw in Des Moines, Iowa.
While attending college he worked in the Sears Store in Des Moines; after graduation he was employed full time at the Merle Hay Sears Store; and he was promoted to the Sears National Headquarters in Chicago where he was in charge of various departments retiring after 25 years in 1985. Cleo and Barbara then moved to Indianola where he was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and the American Legion Post #165. Cleo and his wife devoted much of their time assisting their elderly mothers.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Niles and sister Mary Lauhoff.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sisters, Geraldine Dobson and Irma Staab of Colorado; brother, Mervin of Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews.
