Obituary

Services for Claudia Darleen Mace, 73, of Indianola, will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Freedom Fellowship Church, 2604 North Jefferson Way, Indianola, Iowa.  Visitation will be held prior to services from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Hewitt Cemetery, rural New Virginia, Iowa.

Claudia passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on February 3, 2025 at Good Samaritan in Indianola, Iowa. She was born in Joplin, Missouri on August 11, 1951, to father William James Gillmore and mother, Gladys Aileen (Reed) Gillmore.

Claudia married Daryl Mace on February 18, 1970 in Oklahoma. She worked at Herschel Parts, an agricultural parts manufacturer, in Indianola for 45 years. She started on the docks and went through the manufacturing processes all the way to sales. Claudia went to tradeshows all over the world and received recognitions in sales.

She loved all people and never knew a stranger. She loved to cook, spend time with friends and family, quilt, DJ and dance.

Claudia had a smile and a laugh that would light up a room and a comforting hug.

She is survived by her sons, Daryl (Leona) Mace, JC Mace and Shane Mace; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Pam Mace; brothers-in-law, Tom Sallee and Sonny Perriman; as-well-as, many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Mace; parents, William James and Gladys Aileen Gillmore; son, Arnold Mace; sisters, Mary Sallee and Vicky Perriman.
