IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cheryle Ann
Millard
October 11, 1955 – June 10, 2025
Cheryle Ann Millard, 69, was born in Birmingham, Alabama on October 10, 1955. and passed away June 10, 2025.
Cheryle was the daughter of Valrey Ann Jackson and Elbert Melton McDonald and lived most of her live in Des Moines, Iowa. She spent her whole life being a loving wife and mom to her family and loved them more than anything in the world. She never had to work a day in her life. She loved motorcycle rides, fishing, cooking, grilling, swimming with her granddaughter, camping, getting a banana split, thrifting and yard sales. She enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows at any hour of the day with her husband. Most of all she loved the smell and being in the rain. She was a caretaker and had a kind and loving heart for anyone and everyone and would give you the shirt off her back. In her free-time she liked doing puzzles, coloring, playing games on her tablet, and get down on some cards.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Doc Millard, her one and only love. Also surviving her are her children, Docie Millard, Daniel (Jessie) Millard, Deedee (Taylor) Parker, and Donnie Hall; grandchildren, Anna, Punky, Dylan and Dakota McDonald, Ariella, Gracie, Bubba, Haylie, Dustin, Little Donnie, Dristen, Danielle, Destinee, and Dakota Millard, Cheryle Ann Millard and so many more; brothers and sisters, Tyra McDonald, baby sister Terry McDonald, Ronnie McDonald, and David Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sonny; sisters, Yalanda, Anita and Theresa; and grandsons, Daniel and Dakota. Cheryle will be the most beautiful angel in the sky and deeply missed by so many. We love you.
If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain. Dance beautiful and when it rains you will know I'm with you. Ride with the angels beautiful.
A Celebration of life memorial will be held at the East Gate Lodge, 2501 E Grand, Des Moines, Iowa 50317 on June 28 at 1 p.m. followed by a potluck luncheon. Following the potluck, everyone who rides their bikes can follow in a motorcycle ride with Doc Millard and his kids, that will end at the park in the bottoms.
