Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Raymond Voss, 78,who died peacefully at home of natural causes Saturday, April 10, 2010, will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Basilica of St. John, 1915 University Avenue, Des Moines.  Burial will follow in the Linn Grove Cemetery, rural Norwalk.

Charles was born the son of Raymond and Marie Voss in Prole, IA, May 13, 1931. Charles graduated from Martensdale High School; served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; retired from farming and Armstrong Tire and Rubber in 1989. He raised his family with loving service, dedication and enjoyed his family most. He also liked traveling, working on old cars, watching NASCAR and going to Las Vegas.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Margaret; daughter, Cheri (Joaquin) Fernandez; son, Dan (Theresa) Voss; grandsons, Rob and Patrick Fernandez; step grandson, Joey Brown; sister-in-law, Lillian Wilson; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, April 12, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola where family will be present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the family or the Basilica of St. John.
