Charles loved his family. He was always helping and supporting any way he could. He was always the first-person people would call when help was needed. He was always on time (or early!) and ready with a smile. He loved going to auctions, and his super-power was rebuilding and refinishing old Fords and Farmalls - which were his favorite. Charles enjoyed taming the wild... a squirrel he affectionately named Buddy. He had a fascination for power tools especially the chainsaw where he was known in his early years as the "tree guy" throughout the Norwalk community. After he retired, during the winter months he would keep busy with word searches and puzzles and when the time came for dinner, he was always up for fried chicken. He loved his fried chicken! Every Friday, he would shoot the breeze with the neighbor guys over breakfast and coffee. His infectious smile will be missed by many. We look forward to hearing your favorite stories of him.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Judy Walker of 60 years; daughters, Marsha (Bryon) Snethen, Charlene (Brett) Larson, Elizabeth (Rob) Theobald; grandsons, Aaron (Kasey) Snethen, Alexander Snethen, Zachary Theobald and Ian Theobald; siblings, Ruby (Devere) Adamson, Alice (Larry) Champlin, Janet (Max) Miller, Bob (Connie) Vasey, Betty (Bob) Griffiths, Bonnie (John) Groth, Mary Wenck, Steve (Marcia) Vasey; sister-in-law, Betty Vasey; and many other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his granddaughters, Jessica Snethen and Amanda Theobald; parents, Ivan and Eva Vasey; sister, Shirley Appenzeller; brother, Ralph Vasey.
