Graveside services for Charles "Chuck" Phillips, 76, who passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, at home will be held 11 a.m., Monday, January 14, in the Sandyville Cemetery, Sandyville, IA.  Visitation will be held 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, January 13 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Charles Albert Phillips was born October 2, 1942 in Sandyville, IA to John Albert and Mamie Ruth (Killin) Phillips.  He was united in marriage to Olevia Jo Mercer and to this union four children were born, Michael, Kenneth, Jenny and Beth.

Chuck worked for many years for Morris & Company as a Foreman, in the utility construction with phone cables and later with rural water.  In his spare time and after retirement he loved hunting, fishing and the Knoxville Sprint Car Races.

Survivors include his wife Olevia; children, Kenneth (Joan) Phillips, Jenny Phillips and Beth (Greg) Knoop; sister, Mabel Wood; brothers, Donald (Judy and James (Esther)Phillips; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jeanette Allen, and son Mike Phillips.

Memorials may be given in Charles name to the Indianola Kiya Koda Humane Society.
