Charles was born August 10, 1934 in Exline, Iowa to Ted and Mildred Miner. He entered the United States Army January 27, 1954 and served for two years. He married Arlene Byers on March 8, 1956. Charles worked for and retired from the Indianola School District. He liked to hunt, fish and camp. In his later years he owned a farm, liked his various animals, and had many friends drop by for morning coffee.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; daughters and their families, Marlene (Kerry) Lester and grandson, Keith Lester, and Marie (Kelly) Burzette and grandsons, Matthew and Brennan Ginder, and Ben Burzette; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Miner and their children.

Visitation will be held 3 - 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 2 with family present from 5 - 7 p.m. to greet friends. Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3 in the Hammondsburg Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Central Iowa.
