CHARLES W. KILGORE

Services for Charles W. Kilgore, 87, of Lucas, who was called home on Thursday, February 8, 2018, will be held Wednesday, February 14 at 3 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home, Indianola.  Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

Charles grew up in Linden, Iowa, spent two years in the United States Marine Corp then worked in construction as a carpenter with Local 106, while he farmed on the side. His greatest joys in life were family, laughter, horses, and checking the cows on his four wheeler with his dog, Gracie.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beth; six children, Linda Walk, Carroll Kilgore, Deb (Kevin) Thomas, Mary (Joe) Shineflew, Lori Halligan, and Mike Kilgore; siblings, Barb (Bob) Yamaguchi, John Kilgore, and Pat (Dale) Sorensen; 17 grandkids and 14 great-grandkids.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Dorothy Kilgore; grandson, Richard Walk; and several cousins.

He is loved and will be missed by all.

Memorials may be made to the family to be distributed to the charity of their choice.
