Charles "Chuck" Henry Carico Jr., 73, of Ackworth, IA, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at his home. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2022 in the Sandyville Cemetery, Sandyville, IA.  Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, October 16, 2022 at First Apostolic Church, 2306 West 2 ^nd Ave., Indianola, IA 50125.

Chuck was born February 23, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the Army from 1970 - 1972, and was stationed in Korea throughout 1971. Upon his return, he married Judy Noble, recently celebrating 50 years together in February 2022. Together they had two children, Keri and Jason, both active in raising sheep at the family home. Chuck worked for Drywall Distributors in Grimes for more than 20 years.

Following his retirement, you would find him spending time with his grandkids or out on the lake, where he felt most at home. Chuck was an avid fisherman and an Iowa BassMasters Association Member. He was a talented craftsman and built many furnishings for friends and family. He also enjoyed beating anyone who would play him in Rummy, as well as bowling, hunting and spending time with family throughout his life.

Chuck is survived by his wife Judy; children, Keri (Harry) Stuart and Jason (Heather) Carico; grandchildren, T.J. (Ashley) Stuart, Hope Scully, Damien Scully, Jack Scully, Ben Carico, Emma Carico and Wyatt Carico; siblings, Randy Carico, Neena Leih, and Marsha (Toby) Selvage.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Molly Carico, and his brother-in-law, Bill Leih.

Chuck received a life saving kidney transplant in 2017. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Iowa Donor Network or Camp Hertko Hollow.
