Charlene Dudney peacefully left this life to walk beside her eternal father on May 8, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines with her family by her side.  Services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, IA on Wednesday May 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with burial following in the Wallace Cemetery, Wick, IA.  Visitation will be held at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA on Tuesday May 11, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m.  Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Charlene was born in Madison County on July 30, 1938 to Charles and Emily Strable.  She attended Smedley School in Wick, IA.  She married the love of her life Doyle Dudney on July 30, 1956.  Family was a very important part of her life whether you were immediate or extended family.  She is survived by five sons, Mike (Jamie), Pat (Diana), Randy (Sandy), Richard, Gary (Jeri Jo); brother, Donnie (Janet) Strable; sisters, Phyllis (Leo) Heard, Maxine Simpson; 15 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Dudney; son, Allen Dudney; parents, Charles & Emily Strable; 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

She selflessly dedicated her time at St. Paul Lutheran Church and adored her church family.  Charlene's family would like to extend a big thank you to her church family for every prayer given while she was at the hospital.
