CATHY JEAN ANNETT Carlisle Born on September 2nd, 1971, Cathy left this Earth on February 17th, 2014. Cathy was a beautiful, vibrant person who will be missed by those she has left behind. Survivors include her mother, Gloria and companion Wayne; her brother, Randy and his wife Tonya and their three sons: Andrew, Matthew and Grant; many aunts, uncles, cousins and of course her friends. Cathy loved spending time with friends and family and was always the life of any party or event. Sprint cars, Nascar, singing, dancing and music were some of the passions that Cathy enjoyed. Cathy had a special place in her heart for animals and if a stray was found, it would end up in her loving arms. Her dogs, Chloe and Maggie, were her true companions and no matter how bad things were going they would provide a smile for Cathy. Her first words to my Mom when she visited her in the hospital were "How are my girls?" She always remembered her dogs. Cathy lost a courageous battle with her eating disorder, but even in her final moments, she continued to fight valiantly. Anorexia and bulimia are sometimes viewed as something to be swept under the carpet. However, those close to Cathy know that they can knock you to your knees just as quick as any other disease or illness. If anything can be learned from Cathy's struggle it is that Cathy would want anyone who is dealing with these tragic diseases to know that they are not alone, are loved by their friends and family and can find hope and strength in their love of God. Cathy is now resting and enjoying her eternal life and those still on this Earth know that she is with the Lord; her father, Walt (Buzz), Grandpa and Grandma (Mo and Po), Aunt Edie and all of those who have taken their final journey into the hands of God. Please find comfort knowing that she is with those she loved and each of us will see her and our loved ones someday. There will be a Celebration of Life for Cathy at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA on Friday, February 21 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Cathy's name to Kiya Koda Humane Society, 1206 N Jefferson Way, Indianola, IA 50125.
