Catherine "Kate" Marie Elgin was born on August 8, 1927, in Indianola, Iowa, to Ada (McDole) and Arthur Cue. She attended Indianola High School and she married Phillip F. Elgin on March 19, 1966.

Kate was a member of many clubs and an avid member of her church First Baptist Church of Indianola. You could find her helping at various church activities, singing in the choir, gardening and anything with family and friends.

Kate Elgin died Monday, December 27, 2021, at home in Indianola at the age of 94.

Kate is survived by her sons, Greg (Cindy) Bellman, Dennis (Sandie) Bellman and Jim (Paula) Bellman; grandchildren, Shelley Goodrich, Travis Bellman, Quincy Bellman, Teri Garvin, Natalie Beeler, Jennifer Nelsen, Todd Cambron, Ryan Cambron; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Kate was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phillip, her first husband John Bellman, step children Rick Elgin and Ann Hoover.

Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.  Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to the Indianola First Baptist Church or ICYF (Indianola Community Youth Foundation).
