IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carroll "Jim"
Weeks
March 22, 1942 – February 6, 2022
Jim Weeks, age 79, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on Sunday, February 6, 2022. Jim was born on March 22, 1942 to Carl and Grace Weeks. He lived in New Virginia, Iowa where he went to high school and graduated in 1960. After graduating, he married his high school sweetheart, Leona Kay Johnson on July 25, 1964. After moving from New Virginia, Jim and Leona settled in Indianola, Iowa.
Jim worked as a laborer at Firestone Tire & Rubber for over 30 years. After retiring from Firestone, Jim finished his working years with the Department of Transportation.
Jim and Leona were fortunate to spend over 57 years together. They were blessed with three children and five grandchildren. One thing you could always count on is Jim watching his children and grandchildren in each and every activity. There was no place too far for Jim to drive – he would always be there.
Survivors include his wife, Leona; children, Mark Weeks, Ryan (Amy) Weeks and Erin (Paul) Kindelspire; grandchildren, Morgan and Ashley Weeks, Kaelyn, Kiley, and Kaden Kindelspire; siblings, Wayne Weeks, Bill (Sharon) Weeks, Shirley Mann and Sharon Ferguson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Grace Weeks; brother Dick Weeks and sister, Sheryll Morris.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to EveryStep Hospice.
Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. The visitation will be held prior to services from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in the New Virginia Cemetery, New Virginia, IA.
