Mr. Spoon had lived and farmed near Liberty Center for many years and was a machinist at John Deere in Ankeny until his retirement.

He is survived by a son Steve (Pam) Spoon or West Des Moines; three daughters Janice (Wes)Carrington of Pahrump, NV, Carolyn (John )Dorrain of West Des Moines, and Debbie (Steve) Catron of Ackworth, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys and granddaughter Andrea.

Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Overton Funeral Home where the family will be present to greet friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Liberty Center Legion Hall.
