Carolyn Kay Todd, 73, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 in Des Moines. She was born March 17, 1942 near New Virginia to Murl Weeks and Lucille Conard Weeks. She grew up on a farm with her three sisters, Phyllis, Margaret, and Marilyn. She attended Hell's Half Acre Country School and New Virginia Consolidated School.

Carolyn had been a resident of the Norwalk Nursing Rehab for several years. Carolyn was blessed with three daughters, Debra, Tammy, and Jodi Douglas.

Carolyn worked at Fareway in Indianola and as a machinist at Check All Valves in Des Moines.

Carolyn's interests were her family, fishing, snowmobiling, racing, & motorcycling.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Murl and Lucile Weeks, her daughter Tammy Douglas, special friend, John Rouse, sisters, Phyllis Redman and Margaret Allard.

She is survived by her daughters, Debra Douglas-Matney (husband David Matney) of New Virginia and Jodi Douglas of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Sarah Johnson of Colorado, Emily Meeks of Des Moines, Fred (Michelle) Randal of Maryland, Arwen Chapman of Des Moines, six great grandchildren, Alex and Cooper, Lucy and Olivia, Skyler and Dylan, her sister, Marilyn Reed, and special friend, Gary Bowers.

Visitation will be Friday, December 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Overton's Funeral Home in Indianola. Memorials may be given to the family in her name. On line condolences may be made to www.overtonfunerals.com.
