Funeral Mass for Carolyn June McElwee, 83, who passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St Marys, IA with burial following in the St Marys Cemetery, St Marys, IA.

Carolyn was born on December 26, 1934 in Scotchridge, Warren County, IA to Earl and Etta Bown. Carolyn worked and retired from Northwestern Bell and US West. She later worked part time at the Northside bar and grill in St Marys and the Roadside Inn in Martensdale. She enjoyed trips to Europe and especially the ones to Ireland. She also enjoyed many cruises.

She is survived by her children, Vicki (Bernie) Drummond, Joan (Mike) Workman, Terry (Brenda) White, Diana (Pat) Strable, Donna White; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Judy McElwee, Kenneth (JoAnn) Bown. She is preceded in death by her husband, Phil; son, James White III; grandson, Caleb Strable; sister, Marilyn Duke.
