CARLA JEAN FEES

Celebration of life for Carla Jean Fees, 76, who passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019, will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola, IA where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date in the Osceola Cemetery, Osceola, IA.

Carla Jean was born in Kirksville, Missouri to Carl & Willia LeaAnn Moore on October 31, 1942 the second of four children. The family moved to Des Moines, Iowa when she was young. She attended Weeks Jr High and Lincoln High School in Des Moines where she met her husband John Fees in Junior high, they were married for over 60 years. They lived in Des Moines, Medora, New Virginia and Milo, IA areas before moving to Indianola. She worked for GuideOne (Preferred Risk) Insurance and Allied (Nationwide) Insurance.

She enjoyed family gatherings and picnics, watching her grand kids grow, she went to as many Willie Nelson concerts as possible over a course of 40 plus years, riding motorcycles, laughter, traveling and playing cards. She also done volunteer work and was a blood donor.

She is survived by her husband, John; daughter, Jean Laverty; grandchildren, Austin Laverty, Michelle, Crystal and Kevin Fees; several great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Barb Fees; brother, Robert Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John Fees II.

Memorials may be made to the family in her name for a contribution at a later date.
