Carl Junior Turner, 78, formerly of Indianola, IA (Lebanon, MO), passed peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Jacobs Ladder Houses in Springfield, MO. Celebration of life services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, November 12 at the First Baptist Church in Indianola, IA. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service from 10 to 11 am.

Carl graduated from Indianola High School in 1962. He served as a volunteer firefighter with the Indianola Fire Department from 1965-1970 and 1983-2000. He began his career in law enforcement with the Indianola Police Department in 1970 and retired from the Warren County Sheriff's Office in 1999. Carl enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching Hawkeye sports, and listening to Southern Gospel music. He loved taking his family out for dinner, attending family reunions, and attending Southern Gospel Conventions. In 2017, he and his wife moved to Lebanon, MO.

Carl is survived by his wife, Sherilynn; daughters, Sheila Johnson, Sheryl (Rio) Doolittle, Dayna (Cory) Sarver; grandchildren, Mitch (Lacy) and Jessica Doolittle, Elizabeth, Lacie, Kayla, Faith, and Adeline Johnson, Natalie (David) Johnson Hanners, Melissa Johnson (Landen Baynard), Audra, Ethan, Brennan, and Quinn Sarver;  three great-grandchildren, Alana, Alyssa, and Addison Doolittle; sister, Lois Enga; brother, Larry Turner; and three step-children, Denise (Ken) Nelson, Dan (Helen) Bennett, Chriss Pezzetti and her son, Cross. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Turner Sr. and Georgia Dill Turner, and brother, Danny W. Turner.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Indianola Fire Department.
