Funeral services for Burdella Mae Purdy, 80, who died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at the Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines, will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 10 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola, of which she was a member. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Indianola.

Burdella was born in Woden, IA, was a homemaker, and had farmed in Monroe County from 1952 – 1962. She had lived in Wayne County from 1962 – 1994, where she worked for Neely Manufacturing in Corydon, IA. In 1994, Burdella and her husband, Wayne moved to Indianola where they farmed and she enjoyed her senior years. Burdella also enjoyed quilting and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter, Gloria Patenaude of Tucson, AZ; son, Gary Purdy of Van Meter, IA; sisters, Bertha Leerar of Britt and Ann Kindl of Iowa City; brother, August Brunson Jr. of Minneapolis, MN; and 4 grandchildren, Alesia Harlan, Ryan Purdy, Laura LaBeau and Rainee Patenaude. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Purdy; brothers, Fritz, John, Hieni and Herbert Brunsen; and sister, Betty Sherman.

Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Memorials may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
