BRIAN D. CROAT

Services for Brian Dean Croat, 49, of Indianola, will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church in St Mary's with burial following in the St Mary's Cemetery.

Brian Dean Croat was born May 5, 1970, to the family of Michael and Barbara (Garner) Croat, fondly known as the "little brother" to his siblings.  Brian attended school at Martensdale/St. Mary's and was proud to be part of the Class of 1988. Brian's love of sports, hunting, shenanigans, and spending time with loved ones in the St. Mary's/Indianola area continued throughout his adult life. He attended college before his life-long career as a pipe fitter with Midwest Automatic Fire Sprinkler Company. He fondly called this the "Hard on Levi's era" of his life. He was a member of "a great bunch of guys"  known as Local Union 33.  Brian held many titles throughout his life, although his most treasured was the title of Daddy/Dad. Brian's children were his greatest love, pride and joy. He taught them to fish, hunt, hold a hammer, appreciate nature, and to love everyone unconditionally.  Brian was known as one of three Iowan's who cheered for the Nebraska Corn Huskers. He could be found rooting for them and offering unsolicited advice on how to run the team better at "The Hideout". He will be remembered for his big smile, great hugs, fun loving "shoot the bull" kind of guy, and being there for family and friends always. Brian reunited with his Mom Barb on Sunday Aug 4, 2019, current address: Heaven.

He is survived by his beautiful daughter Renee (17 yrs. old), amazing son Jacob (15 years old), his father Mike (Linda), brother Todd (Karen), sister Deborah (David) Warner, brother Bradley (Felicity), and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and family.

The visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, August 7 in the St. Mary's Parish Hall.  Memorials may be given in Brian's name to the family for a memorial to be decided at a later date.
