IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brent Aubrey
Kuehl
August 28, 1970 – August 6, 2024
It is with immense and utter sadness that we are saying goodbye to our beloved husband, father, brother, and son, Brent Aubrey Kuehl. Brent passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 6th.
Brent was born in Bloomfield, Iowa on August 28th, 1970, to Glenn "Butch" and Arlette Kuehl. He spent his early and teenage years growing up in Indianola, Iowa with his parents and younger brother Kurt Kuehl. He enjoyed, playing football, baseball, and swimming. He had fond memories of balloon days in Indianola and would often reminisce about making paper mâché balloons on his driveway with friends or winning the All-County ping pong championship at the age of 11. Which he would often refer to when he was about to play his kids in ping pong. He even recently joked how he could probably still beat the loser of the women's Olympic ping pong team. As a kid, he enjoyed visiting his grandparents farm with his younger brother Kurt, riding their ponies, and just hanging out with friends.
Brent graduated from Indianola High School and later Northwest Missouri State University majoring in accounting. After graduating college, he accepted a position in Kansas City, Missouri and began his trading career. Brent was most recently employed with MidAmerican Energy as a Sr. Energy Trader.
Brent married Gail Ward in April of 1993 after first meeting and dating in High School. They had three sons, Baker, Brenden, and Cameron. They lived in Kansas City, Missouri for ten years before moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota for almost 13 years, and have now resided in Ankeny, Iowa for the last 10 years.
Brent was a very hands-on father. He could always be found outside with his 3 boys helping them practice for sporting events, jamming on guitar for music events, and basically goofing around with all the neighbor kids. Brent helped coach his kids teams many times and as his sons got older, he always found a way to be there, support, and participate with them.
He loved any type of adventure from camping, biking, hiking, and playing one of his many guitars, but his top priority and what he loved the most was his family. He could never get enough of his family being around him and always joked he was going to build a tiny house in the backyard for each of his sons and their future families, so we could ALWAYS be together.
Brent Aubrey Kuehl, we will miss you terribly, you are the best husband, father, brother, and son a family could ask for. You have always taken care of us, and we will keep you in our hearts every day. We Love you!
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. In Lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Brent may be given to a charity of your choice.
