Obituary

Services for Brenda L. Johnson, 54, of Norwalk, who passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022, in Des Moines, will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 18, at the Crossroads Church, 2601 Border Street, Norwalk, IA 50211 with burial following in the Norwalk Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 17 at the church.

Brenda grew up in Indianola with her 3 younger brothers. She played softball and cheered all through school and continued to play couples slow pitch. She has always been a social, loving and wonderful person. Brenda and Marty met in 1987 and married February 25th, 1989. They had 4 beautiful children. Brenda loved going racing and even use to race figure 8 races. She enjoyed the outdoors and everything that involved family events. She was most passionate about being a wife, mom, and grandma. Brenda will be incredibly missed. Her smile was contagious and her presence always brought light to the room.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Marty; children, Amber (Adam) Bonnett, Chelsea (Jorge) Gonzalez, Bailey Johnson, Draye (Paige Egeland) Johnson; grandchildren, Austin and Aiden Bonnett, Dolly, Darla, Ivan, Denisse and Mateo Gonzalez; siblings, Derek (Content) Howard, Brandon Howard, Sean (Janine) Howard; brother-in-law, Corey Johnson; mother-in-law, Linda Johnson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Ashton Darrell Bonnett; parents, Wayne and Janet Howard; grandparents, Gretchen Boord, Leola and Elmer Howard; father-in-law, Darrell Johnson; sister-in-law, Stacia Johnson-Carlson.
