Bob G. Wilder was born to the union of George C. Wilder and Maude Neideigh on February 3, 1924 in Harlan, Iowa. Bob went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 27, 2006 after battling various illnesses for several years. He was the 4th of 6 children and graduated from Indianola High School in 1942. He married Charlotte Crawford of Martensdale in July of 1942. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II and spent time in Germany during the war.

During his time in Indianola he worked for Orr & Sons and Amsberry's for over 25 years. In 1964, he bought LaFollette Label Service and stayed in the printing business as Wilder Printing until his retirement in 1989. After the death of Charlotte in 1984, he married Audrey Smith in 1986. Bob & Audrey spent many winters in McAllen, Texas and became full time residents of Texas in 2000. He returned to Indianola in 2005 and most recently resided at Windsor Manor until his death.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Charlotte; his parents; his brothers, W. W. Wilder and Keith Wilder; and his sister, Myrna Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Audrey; 2 sisters, Betty Gage of Denton, TX and Bonnie Ewing of Irving, TX; 4 children, Sharon Forbes of Surprise, AZ, Barbara Curlee of Merritt Island, FL, Bill Wilder of Olathe, KS and Lou Ann Parker of West Des Moines; 2 step-daughters, Gloria Vanderpool of Indianola and Kim Pedersen of Otterup, Denmark; in addition to eight grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family will greet friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday, December 29 at the First Baptist Church of Indianola. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
