Services for Billie E. Shields, 82, who passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 in Des Moines, will be held 10 a.m., Friday, August 2 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Friday in the Green Lawn Cemetery, Afton, IA. Survivors include his children, Dianna (Chuck) Tiedemann, Mike (Cherrie) Shields, Debbie (Les) Van Heeswyk, Denise (Tina) Carter-Shields, Scott (Karen) Shields, Kristy (Eddie) Seuferer and Shelly Thomas; siblings, Harvey Shields, Shirley Burr, Max, Bob and Dan Shields; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Shirley Shields. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 1 at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A Masonic service will be held Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
