Obituary

Beverly Telfor, 86, of Weslaco, Texas, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 19, 2025 surrounded by her family.  Celebration of Life Services will be held March 15, 2025 at Rio Valley Estates, 715 N Westgate Drive, Weslaco, Texas 78596, time to be determined, and also on April 26, 2025, from 2 to 6 pm, at the Manson Event Center, 926 Main Street, Manson, Iowa  50563.

Beverly graduated from Webster City, Iowa in 1956.  She married shortly after graduating and soon Sue and Keith came along.  She met Ronald Ostrander and they married in 1964.  She later gave birth to David.  Ronald adopted Keith and Sue and they became a perfect family of 5.  They all moved to Manson, Iowa in 1970.  Bev and Ron managed the Farm and Home store for 4 years, before they opened Manson TV and Appliance, running it for 15+ years.  Throughout her career, Bev worked in Webster City at Browns Café and the Freeman Journal.  She also owned and operated Bev's Threads and Bev's Beverages in Manson.  After Ron passed away, Bev was lucky enough to find another love of her life in Delton Telfor, they married in 2010 and spent 14 wonderful years together.

Bev was very involved in her community.  She sat on the City Council in Manson and was an EMT.  She was involved with Wa-Tan-Ye and the Red Hat Society.  During her years in Weslaco, Texas she spent many hours volunteering at the Knapp Medical Center transporting patients.

Beverly enjoyed photography, fishing, camping, riding snow mobiles, entertaining, canning, and baking. More recently she loved hosting karaoke parties with her friends at the Rio Valley Estates, where she made her home for the past 34 years in Weslaco.  She loved all dogs and horses, as she grew up riding horses and was a skilled dog trainer.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Delton; children, Sue (Jon) Heupel, Gainesville, Florida, Keith (Cheryl) Ostrander, Brighton, Missouri, David (Jill) Ostrander, Indianola, Iowa; step-children, Bob Telfor, Denver, Colorado, Brenda Garza, Hermitage, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and many other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Ostrander; grandson, Jesse Morris; great-granddaughter, Kathryn Jones; parents, William and Anna Merrill; brothers, Bill and Duane Merrill.
