Betty Lou Palmer, 81, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Betty and her husband retired to Arizona in 1992 enjoying their life there.  They moved back to Iowa in 2003.

Survivors include her children Brad (Pam) Palmer, Brian (Rhonda) Palmer and Kathy (Lonnie) Hulsey; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother Gene Trumbo. She was preceded in death by her husband Danny Palmer in February of 2017; parents, Paul and Ethel Trumbo; siblings, Helen Probasco, Pauline Burdess, Bob and Carl Trumbo and a sister Shirley in infancy.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held noon to
4 p.m. Saturday, August 19 with services at 1 p.m. at the Des Moines Police Officers Recreation and Training Building, 5374 N.E. 12th Ave. Pleasant Hill, IA.  Memorials may be given in her name to the Des Moines Police Officers Guardian Project.
