Betty Jeanne Arns went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. Services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, December 12, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Betty was born October 1, 1924 to O'realy and Mary (Roberts) Cox in Millerton, IA. She was a teacher and played the piano, giving piano lessons and playing piano and organ for Bethany Baptist Church in Des Moines for over 30 years.

Survivors include her husband, Eugene Arns; sons, Ronald (Kathie) Flora and Dennis (Lorie) Flora; son-in-law, Chris (Dianne) Arns; daughter-in-law, Jacklyn Kachline; grandchildren, Brett (Kallie) Flora, Brian (Erica) Flora, Jason (Ngoc) Flora and Ashley (Sam) Young; and great-grandchild, Peyton Flora Young. She was preceded in death by her first husband Ross Flora, sisters Mildred and Irene, brother Arlo, and grandson Nathan.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services starting at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Bethany Baptist Church.
