BERNARD F. RIPPERGER Indianola Bernard F. Ripperger, 91, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in Des Moines. A celebration visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 2 at the First United Methodist Church in Indianola with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A prayer service will be held 7:30 p.m. Bernard F. Ripperger, was born February 2, 1924 in Lacona, Iowa to John and Magdalena (Wachter) Ripperger. He was a professor of the outdoors, Indian relic hunter, wine maker, gardener, jewelry maker, multi instrument musician, World War II Veteran, ice skater, skeet shooter, winner of a few golf tournaments, business owner, craftsman, trapper, dancer, race car driver, God fearing man, baseball coach, apple picker, and one hell of a professional story teller. Survivors include his children, Jerry (Helen) Ripperger, son-in-law Bob Piziali, Mike Ripperger, Debbie (Bill) Vetters, Stan (Cyndi) Ripperger and Roger (Sheila) Ripperger; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Magdalena (Wachter) Ripperger; wife, Leota Ripperger; daughter, Berdeana Piziali; five brothers; two sisters; and a great-grandson. Memorials may be given to Friends of Warren County Conservation.
