Memorial services for Bernard E. Leonhardt, 82, who went to be with his Lord Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 16 at the American Legion Post in Indianola.

Bernard was born in Salina, KS and had served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.  His hobbies were his children and his family.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Jo-Ann of Indianola; children, Steve (Wreta) Leonhardt of Ankeny, Rick (Caryn) Young of Des Moines, Marty (Kim) Leonhardt of Norwalk, Denny (Tess) Young of Des Moines, Anne (Dan) Berry of Des Moines, Lonny Young of Indianola and Becky (Dave) Peterson-Burch of Ankeny; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Duane) Biegger of Urbandale; sister-in-law, Rose Leonhardt of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Florence Leonhardt; brother, Frank; and an infant sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family in his name.
