Barbara Jane Prather, 83, passed away on May 2, 2024. She was born on September 20, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to Elmer and Ann Hubbard.  A long-time resident of Indianola, Iowa, Barbara graduated from Simpson College where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority.  For many years she was a Family and Consumer Science teacher in the Des Moines Public School system. She was also active in the Pi Phi Alum club, past president of the Iowa Beta House Corporation, and member of the Indianola United Methodist Church, Chapter JV of P.E.O. and Questers.

She is survived by her brother James Hubbard (Sally), her sister Suzanne Suchy, and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded ln death by her husband Joseph Prather, her parents, and her brother-in-law Harold Suchy.

A private family service will be held at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Indianola, at a later date.
